The Transitions Program is a small group, center-based home instruction educational program for students with school refusal due to anxiety and/or depression. Our South Jersey school refusal Transitions Program serves students in grades 5-12.
The Transitions Program in Cherry Hill offers:
- Full day programming (8:34am-2:45pm)
- A therapeutic environment
- Individual and group counseling with an emphasis on Mindfulness

First Children Services is a New Jersey Department of Education Approved Clinic and Agency for home instruction and counseling under our Regional Enrichment and Learning (REAL) Center division. The Transitions Program teachers are New Jersey Department of Education certified and the program curriculum follows the New Jersey Student Learning Standards. Students do not need an IEP or 504 to attend the program. Transportation is the responsibility of the sending district or parent.
Transitions Program Counseling Services
Transitions Program counseling services are provided by experienced social workers who work closely with each student’s outside treatment provider and family to ensure continuity of care. Counseling services include, cognitive behavioral therapy, social skills, Mindfulness, and family support.
