Mental Health Support Services
Services for Students with Mental Health Challenges
First Children’s school based mental health services are designed to partner with school districts in a wrap around, systemic approach to address the unique needs of the student body. Licensed mental health clinicians will work to identify and implement strategies through evidence based approaches, that would be implemented in different systems to improve the overall academic, social, and life domain functioning of the student population.
Services include, but not limited to:
- Assessment and referral
- Crisis intervention and screening
- Individual therapy
- Family therapy
- Group therapy
- Social skills development
- Social and emotional learning programs
- Professional development for school personnel
- Parent education seminars and trainings
Additional services are determined after consultation with the school and team. First Children staff are able to address presenting mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, suicidal ideations, trauma, school refusal, substance abuse, and other identified needs that may pose a barrier for students.
